The magic of Search Engine

I do not know much about the history of Search Engines, but ever since I started using the internet in 1998, search engine has incrementally become a part of my everyday browsing list. Infact I can't imagine myself using the internet properly without using the search engine.

There was a time when to get a relevant result, people used to search the same thing over several search engines... I used to do that too, but now, I have become faithful to google and yahoo search engines.

The fuzzy logic of search engine crawling and getting some really relevant results on click of a button has been an area of interest for many.

I don't know how many of you would agree to me, but the relevance of results on first page of search engine (atleast the first few entries) has gone down, since a few months. It's my personal experience with top search engines...

But, coming to some really interesting stuff that I discovered few days ago, was the extreme volume of hits going to search engines, and even more interesting was the figures that showed the commercial importance of search engines for "advertising" a website. The figures were really amazing. This shows the dependency of websites over search engines. And that is because of the fact that there are millions of web pages all over the Internet, but to get a bit of "information" from an ocean of "data", you need a search engine.

If you have a website, do think about things you can do to make it popular, by knowing some basics of search engine!!
